Hey guys, had a few ideas that I want input on ....
I already brought up the Extension to 16 teams, and if everyone would be interested ....
Also, I would like to bring up the fact to changing our Weekly submission of lineups from Monday-Sunday, to having daily lineups .... everything would stay the same, if you want to leave your lineup all week untouched, nothing changes .... but sure would be nice if you lose a hitter for the week on Mon or Tues, to be able to sub in someone else instead of getting burned for the week ....
I also would like to see us adopt the LF, CF, RF position requirements for our roster declarations instead of just 3 OF's ... this would bring the challenge level up with running your roster and add a little competitive management in with running your team ...
I also ran the numbers on Total points for the top Batters last season, and the Total points for the top Pitchers last year, and the Pitchers definitely have a strong lead in that category .... So, I would like some discussion on maybe tweaking the scoring system just enough to get those numbers closer to equal between the two .....
I don't want to bombard everyone just yet with all of them, and would like some discussion on these and ideas of your own you would like to see voted on for next season ....

I am good with the 16 team idea and tweaking some numbers for hitters; however, I am still not good on the OF thing and the weekly lineup proposal. We decided to have RP in our lineup so that SP would not dominate the lineup. By doing a daily lineup, you could have every pitcher on your roster in your team's lineup some time during the weekly period. SP already dominates enough already, why give that position more of an opportunity to score more points? After all, isn't that why you suggested we tweak the numbers for the hitters?
If you wanna change hitter's numbers, just take away the strikeout and GIDP points lost.
Didn't we vote against the OF thing before this season?

Hey Paul, I see what your saying about the Weekly to Daily lineups, and, there would have to be a rule of a Maximum starts per week that each team could have .... Right now, if you have all 5 SP's with two starts on the week, you could potentially have 10 starts .... so, we could state in a possible rule change that a Maximum of 10 starts could be made, and a penalty given if an owner starts more than that on the week .... Plus, the scoring period does not change, it still runs from Monday-Sunday ...
The benefit will come to owners who might have a hitter go down on the first day of the scoring period ... right now, if that happens, you are burned for the entire week getting no points, but, with adding daily lineup changes, you could sub in our out any batters that you wanted to ... like I said, changing to daily lineup possibilities doesn't mandate that you must change your lineup daily, just gives you the possibility if wanted ....
Also, yes, we voted this past offseason on the OF thing, but, not eveyone voted, plus we had some new owners come in even after that .... so, all I'm saying is if someone brings it up and it gathers enough attention, we will vote on it after our July Amateur Draft ...

I would also like to change our Amateur Drafts from having two Drafts, one 4-Rounder in Febuary, and one 2-Rounder in July to just one Amateur Draft, a possible 6-Rounder in Febuary each year ....
Also, I would like to change the eligible players in our Amateur Draft from being able to draft High School, College, and foreign players to only be allowed to draft players that have been signed to a contract with an MLB team .... This would go with having 1 Draft per year, and always make it exciting with talent available each year in it .... It would actually make this draft huge each year, because you wouldn't be able to take players that haven't been drafted and signed yet, meaning the pool would be very rich ....

Blow it up and start over, 1) No drafting anyone that is not under a Major league Contract, 2) make it salary based with an Active Cap, plus Total Team Cap. Minor League players do not count against Cap untill Called Up. 3) Make it 20 Team league with more unlimited Minor league roster spots, Will be kept in check by limited draft to 4 rounds each year. Initial Draft 10-15 players in Minor league draft. Minor league players have rookie Elig up unitill they lose it 150 ab's/ 50 Innings pitched, then giving a 3 year contract. This will help give value to minor league system. 4) So Many Contracts each year (Ex 2-4yr, 2-3yr, 4-2Yr, everyone else 1 ear deal) and that have to be used,(Can get burned if liek the Pro's give Zito a Long term deal) and if you cut some one take Contract times $Salary and divide by 2. (Ex. 2yr X $15=$$30/2=$15 Cap hit against Teams Current Season Total team Cap) for a Cap hit against total team Cap. 5) Use the FAABB Sytem for Free Agency with $100 starting, all players won in Free Agency during year giving $1/1 year contract and are able to be signed at end of year at Market Value. 6) Make it Head to Head Non -Points, is a better format then this point format. Limit matchups to 1 team faced a week, not the 3. 7) Weekly set up league is fine if 16+ teams as rosters will be stretched far enough, but Daily is fine as well.
Many Other Idea's as well. And I understand will piss off a few, but as system, and league is set up now, it's a 2-3 team race, everyone else is really just donating there money, and will continue to do so against the couple power house teams that we have in this league that would win a 4 team league let alone a 16 team league.

Great ideas Brandon, we will definitely address a lot going in to next year .... And as being one of the 'power houses' you mentioned, I would not be against the starting over and improving/upgrading the league if everyone else were on board ....
